Keigakuji
Privacy information
How information is used when you visit this website, contact the temple, leave a Journal comment, or join the online-group waiting list.
Who is responsible
Keigakuji operates this English-language website at sit.keigakuji.org. Contact us at info@keigakuji.org, or write to Keigakuji, 1277-1 Ko, Yomogihiramachi, Nagaoka, Niigata 940-1122, Japan.
Enquiries and visits
When you use the visit-enquiry form or email us, we receive your name, email address and the details you provide, such as visit type, preferred dates, group size and questions. Form entries are stored in this website’s WordPress administration area, and a notification is sent to the temple’s email inbox. The form also records submission time, source page, IP address and browser/device information for administration and troubleshooting. We use this information to reply, discuss arrangements and manage a visit you agree with us. Please avoid sending payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information through the form or by email.
Online-group waiting list
The waiting-list form uses Brevo. Your email address is sent to Brevo to manage the list and confirmation email. The form asks you to confirm your address before joining. The current list is for an announcement when the first online-group places open. You can unsubscribe from Keigakuji email updates at any time, or email us to request removal. Brevo’s form and scripts load on the waiting-list page and may receive technical information about your browser and connection. See Brevo’s privacy information.
Journal comments
Comments are reviewed before publication. When you comment, WordPress stores your comment, the name and email address you provide, any website address, and technical information such as your IP address and browser information. We use these records to manage discussion and identify spam. Your approved comment and display name are public; your email address is not displayed. Approved comments and their records remain with the discussion unless removed. You can contact us to request removal.
If you choose the comment form’s option to remember your details, WordPress stores your name, email and website in browser cookies for future comments. Comment avatars use Gravatar, which may receive a hashed version of your email address to find your profile image. That image may appear publicly beside an approved comment. See Gravatar’s privacy information.
Hosting, security and cookies
DreamHost hosts this website. Hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, dates and times, and browser information to deliver and protect the site and troubleshoot problems. WordPress also uses cookies for login and administration. See DreamHost’s privacy information. We have not configured a separate visitor-analytics service for this website.
Bookings and external services
Dated sitting buttons take you to the TXJ booking service. Information you enter there is handled through that service under the notices shown during booking. Enquiries on this website do not themselves reserve a place. Links to Instagram, maps and other external websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Where information is processed
Service providers may process information outside Japan. DreamHost describes processing in the United States in its privacy notice. Brevo and the booking service provide their own information about processing locations and safeguards.
Retention and your choices
Our policy is to delete routine enquiry emails and stored visit-enquiry form entries 12 months after the visit or enquiry is resolved. Records needed for an agreed booking, accounting, security or legal requirements may be retained longer. You can contact us to ask what enquiry, comment or waiting-list information we hold, or to request access, correction or deletion. We will explain any limits that apply to your request.
Updates and contact
We will update this page when the website’s services or information practices change. For privacy questions, contact info@keigakuji.org.
